Getting to and from Cordoba might seem like a quilomobo, but not when you're utilizing the amazing transit system in Argentina. Traveling to Cordoba is easier than you think from Buenos Aires, Rosario and other pouplar cities. Buses transit to and from Cordoba on the regular. Almost once every half hour! This make getting out there, simple!

¡Más Peru!

Well, that "weekend trip" from my last entry turned into quite the adventure!  I've been with my friend for the last two weeks doing a spot of traveling instead of heading back to Cordoba, so here I am!

Right now we're in Nazca staying at the Brabrant Hostal, and we're really enjoying ourselves.  They've got the features we needed as weary travelers, including hot showers 24 hours a day.  They also have a great terrace with hammocks for relaxing after doing your exploring.... Continuar leyendo

Cusco Visit

My friend is traveling through Peru right now, and I've wanted to meet up with her, but unfortunately she won't be able to make it further south than Cusco.  Solution?  Weekend trip to meet her!

She's been staying in the Pirwa Backpacker Colonial Hostel, and she told me it's been great so far.  She said it's close to everything, has free breakfast, wifi, kitchen, and a big meeting area where you can chill with other travelers.  She said she found it through... Continuar leyendo

TEFL Teaching?

I found an interesting article for those that are considering coming down to South America to teach English; at least in Argentina.  With the economic downturn and inflation Argentina isn't the USD playground it used to be, and most people haven't realized that.  Here's hoping people can learn from this article and come into teaching English with a better grasp of the realities!

Universidades

Cordoba is known for its many universities and scientific institutes, and therefore has one of the best educated populations in Argentina.  It has even garnered the nickname of "La Docta."  If you're considering studying abroad in Argentina, Cordoba offers myriad opportunities in many fields, where excellent schools abound.

Sarmiento Park

Sarmiento Park is located atop the city of Cordoba, offering great views and outdoor activities for those that want to get away from the city life for a day.  There are plenty of ways to get into the park, either Poeta Lugones Avenue or through the main entrance near Plaza Espana.

The park offers running trails, zoological garden, an artificial lake with paddleboats, and many other enticing options for leisure.  It's the perfect place for an afternoon picnic or a walk to clear... Continuar leyendo
